About
BRDC |
Plant Sciences ResearchA major research endeavor of BRDCin collaboration with USDA ARS laboratoriesis in the enhancement of agricultural production through the use of natural products, such as pesticides and formulation agents. Several novel formulation adjuvants have been developed that confer longer field life for natural, environmentally-friendly pest control agents. These include gluten, lignin and corn starch, and they provide extended adherence and UV protection. BRDC also has several research projects underway that involve the search and characterization of natural biological agents for pest control, both in-field and post-harvest. BRDC has also made an extended and ongoing commitment to the development of new tools for use in genetically-engineered plants, including:
A significant result of this effort has been the patenting of a new promoter system. This system has now been licensed worldwide and is currently being used by the majority of the world's seed companies. Interested in learning more? BRDC is continually looking for additional partners to participate in its unique approach to conducting research and developmentall for the purpose of advancing the nation's agricultural economy. We are always willing to discuss the inclusion of new private-sector partners with those willing to increase a small, annual research investment by five- to twenty-fold. For information on how your
